It’s Raining :) :) :)

Yay!!!!!!  It’s raining here in Whangaroa Harbour…….first proper rain since the end of September.  I’m sure it was the rain dance we did….  in other words, we had just brought two tankloads of water !

Whangaroa Foreshore Clean-Up Day

Ratcliffe Bay. We picked up rubbish, sprayed weeds and trimmed vegetation here.

Today, a bunch of us got together with chainsaws, weedeaters, sprayers, brooms, loppers, rakes, rubbish bags, utes, a truck and set too and tidied up the foreshore from Ratcliffs Bay right round to the reserve on the other side of the Gamefish Club.  With so many hands at work we were all completed by lunchtime.  Had a drink at the  Gamefish Club and we dined on fish and chips from Sallys Cafe.  A congenial time was had by all :)

Looking towards the Gamefish Club. The grass verge has been cut now!

Kairara Rocks/Dukes Nose Hike

We did this hike in March of this year, leaving from Totara North.  Beautiful scenery along the track.  About 2hrs one way.  The Dukes Nose rock climb was not easy for me – I was right out of my comfort zone – but I did it.  The view from the top out to the Whangaroa Harbour entrance was well worth it!
