LOCATION

Waimanu Lodge, in Whangaroa Harbour, is located 281 km North of Auckland and 30km north of Kerikeri in the Bay of Islands. Whangaroa Harbour is well positioned en route to the Far North and Cape Reinga.

The sandy beaches of Tauranga Bay, Taupo Bay, Matauri Bay and Coopers Beach are near by. The golf courses of Kauri Cliffs, Carrington, Kerikeri and Whangaroa are also in the area. 

HOW TO FIND US from Auckland

Follow  State Highway 1 (SH1) north travelling past Whangarei City (160km)
Just before Kawakawa (50km), there is a junction where SH1 turns sharply to the LEFT.  Take the LEFT turn.  Straight ahead will take you to the Bay of Islands and Paihia.

There is a further junction 13km north of Kawakawa where State Highway 10 (SH10) turns RIGHT off SH1.  The sign at the turnoff to SH10 reads “Kerikeri, Bay of Islands and Doubtless Bay”  Turn RIGHT here.

Follow SH10 for 18km to a large roundabout continue STRAIGHT AHEAD ON SH10. to Kaeo.  Turning right will take you into Kerikeri.

Just past Kaeo, SH10 turns left over a one way bridge.  Do NOT cross the bridge.  CONTINUE STRAIGHT AHEAD to Whangaroa (7km)

You will pass the Whangaroa Big Game Fish Club and Whangaroa Marina on your left and the Marlin Hotel on your right.  Take the next turning right (Old Hospital Road).  Follow the signs to the top of the hill. The first section of the road is tar sealed and then continues into a narrow gravel road for a short distance.  Our entrance is clearly marked on the right hand side of the road just before the top of the hill.
