Our family took a short break to Lake Wanaka in the South Island a couple of weeks ago.  The family all skied at nearby Cardrona ski field while I hiked somewhere different each day. Have declared my skiing days are over!

This hike is 6km from Wanaka township.  The peak is 1,500m and takes around 5-6 hrs to do the round trip. A well maintained steep zig zagging track with panoramic views at the top.
